Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Longview, TX to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise handling, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention, while ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting store environment for customers and staff.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, be able to lift up to 55 lbs, and work well in a high-energy, team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred and required to read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
