Job summary

Dollar Tree in Latham, NY seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This role partners with the Store Manager to supervise daily activities, train associates, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.

You will help organize merchandise, maintain clean and safe floors, assist in scheduling, payroll, and cash handling, and deliver a positive, respectful shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked store and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, trash; ensure neat appearance.
• Other duties as assigned.
