Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our South Carolina location. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure displays and seasonal areas are well maintained.

You will participate in opening and closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, and supports in training Store Associates while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and the ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks as part of daily duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all assets, including store cash.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and company procedures by associates.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
