Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Madison Heights, VA for part-time work focused on store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, merchandise handling, and supervision of Store Associates, while ensuring policies are followed and the store remains clean and secure.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a customer-first approach in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors
