Job summary

Dollar Tree in Blue Springs, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will work with the Store Manager to guide associates, ensure compliance with company policies, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.

You will help with opening/closing, merchandise handling, and daily financial tasks while upholding safety standards and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store helpful.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-front; ensure freshness and neatness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
