Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty, demonstrating product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support store operations as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting leadership.
• Open and close the store responsibly, ensuring security and readiness.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and utilize your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to management.
• Understand and support store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, store layout adjustments, and merchandising.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with store management to prevent theft and ensure security.
• Help maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
• Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any other duties assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, with a passion for music and pop culture.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a desire to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
