Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing excellent customer service, ensuring fans can find their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages repeat visits, demonstrating product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support the team as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting during managerial absences.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring smooth operations.
• Operate the register, process sales, and promote additional benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup, while managing cash and communicating shortages or overages to management.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Contribute to maintaining an organized stock room and tidy store environment.
• Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any additional activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations, with a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
