Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and support daily operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an exceptional shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Step in and support store operations when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
  • Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
  • Operate the register, process sales, and utilize your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales and services like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate any register shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
  • Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
  • Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
  • Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
  • Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  • Help maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
  • Support the development of a collaborative, passionate team to run the store effectively.
  • Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  • Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop team members.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
