Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, helping fans find their favorite merchandise. Your fandom knowledge will be essential in training new recruits and supporting daily operations to meet sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through your product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Step in and support store operations as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
  • Open and close the store responsibly, ensuring security and readiness for business.
  • Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate any shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
  • Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
  • Assist with planogram updates, store layout, and merchandising strategies.
  • Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
  • Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  • Maintain organized stock rooms and keep the store tidy.
  • Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  • Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and leadership skills.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
