We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return. They’ll be impressed by your product knowledge, customer experience skills, and enthusiasm for music and pop culture.
- Step in and step up when needed. You’ll cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when your Manager gets pulled away.
- You’ve got the keys to the store, and you’re not afraid to use them! You’ll open and close the store, as needed.
- Work the register; you’ll process sales transactions and use your fandom knowledge to drive add-on sales using additional benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup. You’ll also close out the register and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
- Understand store sales plan, sales goals, and key KPIs: UPT and ADT.
- Assist with planogram changes including store layout, wall, fixture, and merchandising mix.
- Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
- Work with Store Management to ensure proper use of spells and prevent theft related to wizardry, keeping store security tight.
- Support the maintenance of the stockroom; help keep it organized and the store tidy.
- Help develop and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run the store alongside you.
- Perform any other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

- Strong skills: communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and a drive to develop your team.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The usual retail capabilities (with or without reasonable accommodations): navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift boxes of up to 50 pounds.
