We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return. They’ll be impressed by your product knowledge, customer experience skills, and use of the Force.
- Step in and step up when needed. You’ll cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when your Manager gets pulled away.
- You’ve got the keys to the kingdom, and you’re not afraid to use them! You’ll open and close the store, as needed.
- Work the register; you’ll process sales transactions and use your fandom knowledge to drive add-on sales using benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup. You’ll also be responsible for closing out the register and communicating shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
- Understand store sales plan, key KPIs like UPT and ADT, and sales goals.
- Assist with planogram changes, including store map, wall, fixture, and merchandising mix.
- Share fashion and music trend information with management and HQ partners.
- Work with Store Management to ensure no misuse of spells and wizardry around theft.
- Support the maintenance of the store, including keeping the stock room organized and the store tidy.
- Help develop and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run your store.
- Perform any other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- At least 1 year of retail store experience. If you love music and pop culture, you're in the right place!
- Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and a drive to develop your team.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
