Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Assistant II, Language Lab performs standard lab dutieswhile assisting multiple students and at times two computer labs.Activities are routine as well as repetitive. Reports to DivisionOperations Manager and a Department Chair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Monitors and assists students with the lab requirement of theirclass
  2. Responsible for monitoring and signing-off on students' labtime
  3. Assists with monitoring and tracking lab supplies (workbooks,printer toner, and paper supply)
  4. Uphold students' reasonable understanding of proper labconduct
  5. Operates a variety of office equipment, including but notlimited to computer(s), printer, copier, and laminator
  6. Responsible for other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Has a general knowledge of Internet Explorer, and searchengines
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, andstrong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively as amember of a team
  • Must be detail oriented and precise
  • Must be able to follow the lab rules and guidelines
  • Must be punctual
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office and/orlaboratory
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have taken and passed college level Freshman English courses orhigher
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $15.60
