Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations, staffing, pool operations, and customer service. You will manage retail and vending, private party operations, and coach staff on class scheduling and performance.

The role requires leadership experience, excellent communication, and the ability to work weekends. Training provided, with opportunities for advancement in a growing franchise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years management/leadership experience required.
• Weekend availability required.

• Must pass background examinations (included with training).

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations to ensure the school runs per GSS SOPs.
• Assist General Manager with daily tasks and execution.
• Manage GSS staff to maintain productivity and satisfaction.
• Train and oversee aquatics and deck staff to ensure quality swim instruction.
• Provide sales and marketing training to qualified staff.
• Oversee retail and vending departments for proper product mix and pricing.
• Train and supervise private party staff for SOP adherence.
• Gain knowledge of Links software for bookings and scheduling.
• Maintain safe and sanitary pool environment and operations.
• Lead workplace activities to boost employee satisfaction.
• Oversee Emergency Action Plan and safety procedures, train staff on EAP.
• Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date in aquatics and management.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by Employer.

Job Title: Assistant General Manager

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending department, private party operations and workplace employee activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
2. Assists General Manager and department managers with fulfillment the daily tasks.
3. Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction.
4. Trains and oversees aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS. Interacts with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.
5. Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
6. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.
7. Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.
8. Gains knowledge and experience in the Links software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.
9. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
10. Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities ("Fun" Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.
11. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP.
12. Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.
13. Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider preferred. Two or more years management experience required.

Certificates and Licenses

Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first Aid certification required(Can be provided if hired) . Shallow water attendant highly recommended.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
