Summary of Job Duties

Responsible for assisting the headcoach in the management and administration of an effective and efficient baseball program. The position reports to the HeadBaseball Coach.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Verifiable experience coaching baseball.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership including recruitment, player development,and social development of student-athletes. Assist in the management of the program budget. Prepare and conduct practice sessions. Assist in game day operations. Assist in travel and scheduling. Field operations.
  • Create fitness and conditioning programing. Monitors academicprogress toward degree of student-athletes in conjunction with thecompliance office. Ability to guide athletes toward successfulcompletion of an undergraduate degree while participating inintercollegiate athletics.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere byacting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the game of baseball.
  • Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics,Division II baseball programs, MIAA Conference rules, and NCAAlegislation and regulations

Working Relationships

Work in a dynamic team of diversefaculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-orientedcollegiate environment. Frequent contact required with boosters,personnel from other agencies and institutions and the generalpublic.

Special Job Dimensions

Work performed primarily in anoutdoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required.Coaches may be called upon to assist with fundraising for theathletic department and to provide staff support to the othersports programs during their respective seasons. Valid driver’slicense required.
