Job summary

Central Oregon Community College seeks a Part-Time Instructor in Art & Design to provide instruction, guide student discussions, and assess performance across classroom, studio, or lab settings under the Program Director and Department Chair.

Responsibilities include adhering to outcomes, holding regular office hours, and assisting with curriculum development and outreach. The role supports online, hybrid, and on-site formats for a range of courses with diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Art/Design or 30 graduate credits in the field.
• Mastery in one or more emphasis areas: art history, foundational art, drawing, painting, etc.
• Experience teaching art/design with demonstrated excellence or promise.
• Ability to teach across day/evening/weekend and online/hybrid formats.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in Art & Design courses, directing student discussion and evaluating performance.
• Adhere to instructional plans guiding student instruction based on outcomes.
• Hold at least one scheduled office hour per class per week for student help sessions.
• Assist with program outreach and curriculum development.
• Collaborate with full-time faculty to revise curricula and participate in course assessment.
