Job summary

YMCA at Green Hills is hiring an Aquatics Team Leader to supervise lifeguards, schedule coverage, and maintain a safe, welcoming pool environment for members.

Responsibilities include leading staff, conducting trainings and evaluations, checking chemical levels, and ensuring pool areas are clean and ready for use. You will build relationships with members and promote aquatics programming. This is a part-time role with a starting pay of $14 per hour, with experience-based increases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 500 hours and two seasons of lifeguarding experience.
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a passion for service.
• Experience with pool operations and testing pool chemicals; CPO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and lead lifeguards to maintain proper pool coverage and safety.
• Ensure the pool and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and ready for members.
• Check and adjust pool and whirlpool chemical levels as needed.
• Assist in leading staff training, evaluations, and aquatic readiness drills.
• Build relationships with members to connect them to YMCA aquatics programming.
• Model and enforce YMCA safety standards and pool rules while addressing concerns promptly.
