Job summary

Gateway Region YMCA in Missouri is seeking a part-time pool attendant to ensure safe aquatic operations. The role requires basic safety certifications and reliable communication, with duties including equipment checks and enforcing health guidelines.

The position offers a base pay range of $15.00–$17.00 per hour, with additional benefits and a commitment to a diverse workforce. The candidate must be at least 16 and able to work flexible hours at the pool facility.

Qualifications

• Must be American Safety and Health Institution certified in Basic Life Support, First Aid, and Oxygen
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must have clear verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatics area.
• Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required.
• Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner
• Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code.
• Perform equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.
• Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.
• Performs chemical testing when not in a slide dispatcher position, as required, and takes appropriate action.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
