Job summary

The City of Las Vegas Parks & Recreation department invites applications for Pool Manager. This is an hourly level, part-time position with scheduled hours limited to 19 hours or less per week and an annual 1,560 hour cap for hourly staff.

Responsibilities include safeguarding pool and patrons, teaching Learn to Swim and related aquatic programs, supervising staff, cash handling, opening/closing the pool, and maintaining order and cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 17 years of age (preferred 18 and over)
• Must have 1 year experience managing a pool/facility
• Routine public contact or customer service experience
• Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
• Basic computer skills
• Bilingual skills are desirable

Responsibilities

• Safeguards pool and patrons
• Teaches Learn to Swim courses and possible competitive swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, and/or diving
• Schedules and supervises staff providing customer service and ensures timecards are completed
• Set up and/or take down equipment for program and/or special events
• Cash handling duties
• Responsible for opening and closing pool
• Maintains order and cleanliness in the pool and adjoining areas
