Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ Office of Admission seeks part-time Readers to assist in the holistic review of first-year undergraduate applicants. Readers will collaborate with a reading partner to determine admissibility according to the college’s mission and procedures.

Working from early November 2026 through mid-February 2027, Part‑Time Readers for the Hobart and William Smith Office of Admission will provide critical support in the holistic review of first‑year undergraduate applicants. Readers will be asked to conduct a holistic review, and make admissibility decision on applicants, in conjunction with a reading partner. Remote Part‑Time Readers must be comfortable evaluating applicants in accordance with the mission of Hobart and William Smith. Remote Readers must be prepared to work for at least 15-20 hours per week, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to work at a fast pace. Thorough application review training will be provided upon hiring.

This is a part‑time, temporary, non- benefits eligible position. This position description is not all‑inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year. Hourly rate: $25
