Job summary

Independent Management Services seeks a dependable Part-Time Maintenance Technician to help with daily upkeep of an apartment community. The role involves unit turns, cleaning, landscaping, and basic repairs, with hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in property maintenance, can operate small tools, and is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather. Reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Must have own basic hand and power tools.
• Previous experience in apartment/property maintenance or related trade.
• Experience performing minor electrical repairs.
• Experience performing minor plumbing repairs.
• General knowledge of basic building and apartment repairs.
• Comfortable completing work orders and assisting with apartment unit turns.
• Physically able to walk the property and grounds regularly.
• Able to operate a snow blower and use a snow shovel for snow/ice removal.
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, climb and perform physical maintenance duties.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be dependable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance work orders.
• Assist with unit turns and preparing vacant apartments for new residents.
• Perform general cleaning of buildings, common areas, and vacant units.
• Perform grounds cleanup, including picking up trash and debris.
• Trim bushes and perform basic landscaping.
• Pull weeds and maintain landscaped areas.
• Assist with seasonal property cleanup.
• Perform snow and ice removal as needed.
• Assist with general maintenance repairs and property projects.
• Provide on-call maintenance coverage when needed.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive apartment community.
