A Place Called Home (APCH) in Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Teaching Artist for Animation & Graphic Arts to design and lead hands-on activities for youth, aligning with program goals and REACH objectives. The role involves teaching 2D animation, Stop Motion, and graphic arts while fostering creativity and social-emotional learning.

The position supports APCH’s mission in a dynamic youth-centered environment, with part-time hours and on-site instruction from August to May and summer sessions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Animation, Visual Arts, Digital Media or equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience working with youth in a classroom setting.
• Knowledge and background in various animation or graphic arts disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and lead animation and graphic arts classes (2D, Stop Motion, Illustration).
• Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) and REACH indicators into project planning.
• Develop lesson plans and curriculum for multiple levels.
• Maintain the Digital Media Lab and inventory of equipment.
• Provide supervision and foster a welcoming youth-centered environment.
