Job summary

Kent County Animal Shelter is seeking a Part-Time Animal Care Technician to provide compassionate care, enrichment, and support to shelter animals and their future families.

You will feed and monitor animals, assist with adoptions and inquiries, and help maintain a clean, safe facility. This role values reliability, basic computer skills, and good communication in a diverse community.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in care and feeding of animals.
• One year of successful clerical experience.
• Basic computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Effective oral and written communication; ability to interact with a diverse client base.
• Bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Feed, enrich, and monitor shelter animals, including basic health checks.
• Assist clients with inquiries and adoptions and handle clerical tasks.
• Observe animals for illness or injury and seek prompt care.
• Sanitize kennels, cages, and surrounding areas for a clean environment.
• Work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
• Apply animal care best practices and protocols.
