Job summary

The candidate will work under the Kennel Supervisor, with responsibilities spanning daily care, coordination with veterinary staff, and accurate documentation in the shelter database.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in an animal shelter, animal care environment, or pet ownership.
• Must be comfortable working with animals.
• Must be willing to assist with humane euthanasia of animals.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize animal holding pens and cages daily.
• Feed and water all animals in the shelter.
• Review health status of animals and notify veterinary staff of medical issues.
• Transport animals humanely from unloading areas and assign kennels.
• Assist citizens with adoptions and process adoption applications.
• Update animal data in the database and on the Internet listing.
