Job summary

York County SPCA is seeking an Animal Care Technician who will play a vital role in caring for the shelter animals. Responsibilities include animal enrichment, general care, feeding, cleaning, and assisting in adoptions.

The ideal candidate will have personal animal handling experience with various species including cats and dogs, as well as strong hygiene practices.

There will be a requirement to lift up to 40 pounds and handle animals up to 125 pounds safely while working both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• Must have personal animal handling experience with cats and dogs.
• 1-2 years of professional or volunteer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic animal husbandry tasks including cleaning and feeding.
• Assisting with adoption meet-and-greet appointments.
• Administer medications as directed.
