Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Direct Care Registered Nurse for the Float Pool in the Southside Outpatient offices, with potential travel to Peninsula. This part-time days position offers 24 hours weekly in a physician practice/ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include triage, assisting with examinations, administering medications and immunizations, patient education, and care coordination under clinic leadership. ADN is required; BSN preferred; RN license and NCLEX/BLS required.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• One to two years ambulatory/clinic experience preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX, BLS required; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up and continuity of care.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
