Job summary

Sentara Medical Group seeks a Direct Care Registered Nurse Float Pool for Southside Outpatient offices. This part-time role involves ambulatory nursing, triage, and care coordination across clinics with potential Peninsula travel.

The RN administers meds, vaccines, and procedures, educates patients, and documents in the EHR, supporting population health and safe, efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Currently licensed RN with NCLEX-RN; BLS required; AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs triage in person and by phone.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provides patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinates referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manages patient messages and results within scope.
• Supports prevention and population health outreach.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Documents care in the electronic health record.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
