Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is hiring an Ambulatory Float RN for the Olathe Pavilion/Main Campus. This part-time nursing role delivers comprehensive patient assessments, documentation, planning and evaluation to enhance comfort and well-being in the clinic setting.

Responsibilities include data entry, care coordination with staff, pre-visit planning, patient education via MyChart, triage responses, and EMR documentation. Strong clinical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and nursing degree completion per state requirements.
• Active RN license in a participating multi-state system or in-state with renewal pathway.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs data entry in Hospital and Clinic information systems; assists with medical records as needed.
• Coordinates with clerical and medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Performs injections, spirometry and EKGs as needed; prepares exam rooms between patients.
• Provides MyChart activation instructions and promotes patient engagement.
• Responds to triage calls and documents care in EMR; follows up on lab results after provider review.
• Rooms patients, reviews medications, monitors vital signs, and supports the care team in planning.
• Tracks care transitions and assists patients with home health or hospice care when needed.
