Job summary

ADEC INC. is seeking an Afterschool Program Support Staff in Elkhart, IN. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 1:30pm to 6:30pm, with year-round options including summer camp.

The position focuses on planning activities to help children with disabilities improve mobility, social, academic, and communication skills. Responsibilities include coordinating the program, providing personal and medical care, and maintaining relationships with families, schools, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Sign language knowledge preferred for specific caseloads.
• Experience with teaching techniques or working with persons with severe disabilities is desired.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Ability to function effectively as a team player and represent ADEC in public settings.
• Clear communication with clients, staff and community resources.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable vehicle.
• Must pass a drug screen and have no illegal drug activity.
• Complete required training at hire and annually as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Afterschool program.
• Build relationships with community resources.
• Provide personal and medical care to children in the program.
• Assist with waiver billing and required paperwork.
• Maintain communication with families and schools.
• Follow cleaning and disease prevention policies; PPE provided.
• Other duties as assigned.
