Job summary

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation invites applications for part-time Group Leaders in the United Community Center Elementary After School program in Brooklyn, NY. This role is hourly for 15-17 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, typically 2:00 pm–6:00 pm.

Responsibilities include planning and documenting activities, ensuring child safety, fostering positive relationships, and supporting attendance and enrollment processes.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of College, preferably in Education, Social Work, or related field.
• 2 years of experience working with children in a child care or education setting.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bengali/Creole French) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and document educational, recreation, youth leadership, community service and arts activities for school-aged children.
• Adhere to safety policies and act in the best interest of children.
• Build positive relationships with participants and foster group development.
• Actively engage with children to support positive development.
• Represent the agency professionally with staff, parents and the community.
• Manage the assigned group and enforce progressive discipline policies.
• Create a cohesive staff team and assist with enrollment and attendance records.
