Job summary

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation is hiring part-time Group Leaders for the United Community Center Elementary After School program in Brooklyn, NY. The role runs 15-17 hours weekly, typically 2:00–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, focusing on engaging school-aged children in educational, recreational, and leadership activities.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of college (Education/Social Work preferred) and two years of experience with children, with bilingual abilities a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of College, preferably in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience working with children in a child care or education setting.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bengali/Creole French) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and document successful educational, recreation, youth leadership, community service and arts activities with school-aged children.
• Adhere to policies and procedures; safety and care of children as primary focus.
• Build positive relationships with each participant and foster connections among the group.
• Actively engage with children to promote positive development and group cohesion.
