Job summary

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has openings for part-time Youth Workers in the United Community Center Elementary After School program in Brooklyn, NY. The Youth Worker supports the development and well-being of youth through engaging activities and guidance, typically working 15-17 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Candidates should be a Junior in high school or higher, with at least 1 year of experience with children.

Qualifications

• At least a Junior in High School.
• 1 year of experience working with children in a child care or education setting.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bengali/Creole French) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the group leader in planning, implementing, and documenting educational, recreation, youth leadership, community service, and arts activities for school-aged children.
• Adhere to policies and ensure the safety and care of children.
• Build positive relationships with each participant and foster connections among participants.
• Engage actively with children to promote positive development.
• Maintain professional conduct as a representative of the agency.
