Job summary

Montclair Community Pre-K is seeking an Extended Care Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, with a start date of August 24, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include planning daily activities, reading aloud to the group, supervising outdoor time, snack preparation/cleanup, and communicating with families at pick-up. Ideal candidates have experience as a camp counselor, aftercare teacher, daycare provider, or babysitter and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Experience working with kids in aftercare, camp, daycare, or babysitting settings.
• Ability to plan daily activities and read aloud to a group.
• Experience supervising children during outdoor time and snack periods.

Do you love working with kids and have afternoon availability? The Montclair Community Pre-k has openings for Extended Care Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year (start date August 24th) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday.

The Extended Care program includes outdoor recess time, fun planned activities, snacktime, and enrichment activities. The Extended Care Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing daily activities, reading books to the group, supervising outdoor time, preparing and cleaning up from snack and communicating with families at pick-up. If you have experience as a camp counselor, aftercare teacher, daycare teacher, and/or babysitter and have a high school diploma, we hope you will apply to join our school!

To apply for this position you must be available Monday - Friday from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. This is a 20 hours per week position at $18-20 per hour, depending upon experience and education, with the potential for additional substitute hours.
