The Learning Experience in Manassas City, VA is seeking an experienced Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to help keep our classrooms engaging, organized, and running smoothly throughout the second half of the day. This role offers consistent weekday afternoon hours, a pay rate of $16-$18 per hour based on experience, and the opportunity to grow with training and development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare experience required.
• Experience in daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working with different age groups as needed.
• Reliable and able to work the preferred Monday-Friday afternoon schedule.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon
• Engage children through art, stories, music, movement, play, and hands-on activities
• Assist with meals, snacks, rest time, transitions, and afternoon routines
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
• Help maintain required classroom ratios
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Support classroom organization and end-of-day procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience. Preferred Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM-6:00 PM
