The Learning Experience - Gainesville is seeking a Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to support our classrooms during the latter part of the school day in Gainesville, VA.

This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (2:00 PM–6:00 PM) with a pay rate of $17–$19 per hour, based on experience. Join a team focused on engaging activities and a positive end-of-day experience for children.

Qualifications

• Previous professional daycare, childcare, preschool, or early childhood experience required.
• Comfortable working with young children in a group classroom setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and available Monday-Friday from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM.
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on activities.
• Assist with afternoon snacks, transitions, and classroom routines.
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management.
• Help maintain required classroom ratios.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Assist with classroom organization and end-of-day procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements.
