The Learning Experience - Manassas City is seeking a Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to help keep our classrooms engaging, organized, and running smoothly throughout the second half of the day.

This role offers consistent weekday afternoon hours in a daycare and preschool environment, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training. Ideal candidates have childcare experience, reliability, and a passion for working with young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare experience required.
• Experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working with different age groups as needed.
• Reliable and able to work the preferred Monday-Friday afternoon schedule.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon.
• Engage children through art, stories, music, movement, play, and hands-on activities.
• Assist with meals, snacks, rest time, transitions, and afternoon routines.
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management.
• Help maintain required classroom ratios.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Support classroom organization and end-of-day procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements.

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Preferred Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM-6:00 PM
