Job summary

Ascension Episcopal Day School is seeking a part-time Afternoon Assistant Teacher for its Infant classroom, with hours from 12:30 to 6:00. The role focuses on nurturing a creative learning environment for 8 babies, under the Lead Teacher, ensuring high-quality interactions.

The ideal candidate has experience with young children, some early education training, and strong communication skills to collaborate with a team and families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in an early education setting.
• Some training in early education or related field.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Must love working with children and maintain a positive, professional attitude including team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with students in their play and activities.
• Follow staff policies and procedures to ensure a healthy and safe environment including cleaning and sterilizing the classroom and materials throughout the day.
• Assist in maintaining attendance and classroom records.
• Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information and ideas on a continuous basis.
• Work to improve teaching and professional skills by attending workshops and trainings.
• Consistently maintain open and friendly relationships with each child's family.
• Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
