Job summary

Redwood Logistics is seeking an Afterhours and Weekend Carrier Sales Representative to join our team in Chicago, IL. This part-time, onsite/hybrid role focuses on sourcing and developing strong relationships with motor carriers to maximize profitability and service quality.

You’ll track the load lifecycle, negotiate freight rates, coordinate shipments, and support internal teams while maintaining carrier records. Weekend shifts are required, with a flexible schedule to meet market demands.

Responsibilities

• Track load life cycle from shipment to delivery with emphasis on inbound and outbound calls; also use electronic tracking.
• Communicate freight updates to customers and internal carrier/operations teams.
• Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers and internal sales to maximize profitability.
• Coordinate available customer freight with motor carrier equipment.
• Maintain relationships by consistently supporting motor carriers and building trust.
• Maintain a file of all open truck shipments and records of trailers in assigned areas.
• Communicate with motor carriers to schedule trucks and resolve issues.
• Verify freight charges and BOM receipts; resolve payables discrepancies before payment.
• Monitor BOM discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
