Job summary

Rockwern Academy’s Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) is seeking a part-time Aftercare counselor to begin immediately for the 2026–2027 school year. The role supports a nurturing play-based approach and requires a caring, professional demeanor. Aftercare runs Mondays–Thursdays 3:30 PM–6:00 PM and Fridays 3:30 PM–5:00 PM, with flexibility in days.

Reporting to the ECEC Director. The candidate should be at least 18 years old and capable of contributing to a respectful, collaborative classroom

Qualifications

• Age requirement: must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Help create and maintain a safe, organized, fair, effective, and inviting classroom that reflects mindfulness of students' physical, social, and intellectual development and needs
• Assist with classroom behavior in age-appropriate ways
• Greet children daily as they enter the classroom; demonstrate respect and empathy for all children and parents
• Joyfully engage in activities, both indoors and outdoors
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Treat children, staff, and parents with respect
• Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and collegiality by helping others and accepting suggestions for improvement
