Job summary

Valrico Lake Advantage Academy is seeking a part-time Before/After Care Counselor to supervise and engage students according to the aftercare program. You will follow the set schedule, assist with activities, and help maintain order and safety in the classroom.

Qualifications include 1–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma, and strong English communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated by the Aftercare Director.
• Takes attendance.
• Follows schedule and curriculum to meet students' needs.
• Creates a learning environment conducive to creativity and age-appropriate mastery.
• Prepares activities weekly and assists in snacks and cleanup.
• Encourages students to maintain classroom behavior standards.
• Maintains safety for students, staff, equipment, and facilities.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life.
• Maintains a professional attitude at all times.
• Participates in dismissal procedures and verifies pickups with IDs.
• Attends staff meetings and required trainings.
• Supervises activities to ensure safety at all times.
