Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is hiring for a Before and/or After School Staff role at Citrus School Age Programs in Lecanto, FL. You will supervise groups of children, implement purposeful activities, and engage with members to strengthen the community.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (college degree preferred) and experience with children. Training, CPR/First Aid, and certifications are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be enrolled in GED classes and complete within two years of employment.
• College degree in a child-related field is preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, Lifeguard and Listen First certifications preferred.
• Must complete required trainings within specified timeframes after hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a designated group of children to ensure safety.
• Maintain attendance and document absences and incidents.
• Communicate and document children's absences and injuries per policies.
• Use positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behavior and document disciplinary actions.
• Nurture children by facilitating purposeful programming that supports academic growth.
• Cultivate relationships by establishing a positive rapport with children, parents, volunteers, staff and school personnel.
• Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity and maintaining a clean facility.
• Model SMART behavior and educate members about YMCA services.
• Support YMCA strategic goals by promoting volunteer opportunities and philanthropy.
• Encourage members and celebrate health and well-being goals.
