Job summary

The YMCA of Greenville is seeking an After School Counselor I to provide safe, engaging activities for school-age children in the program after school hours. Hours are typically 2:00pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a focus on physical, mental, and social development within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

You will plan age-appropriate activities, supervise groups, and maintain attendance and activity records, while participating in required trainings and campus events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to be a good role model and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
• Lead physical activity games, crafts, nutrition lessons, and homework groups.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Maintain equipment, records, and logs (attendance, medications, first aid, incidents).
• Attend trainings and staff meetings; comply with policies and licensing regulations.
• Able to drive a 14-passenger bus when required.
