Job summary

Nexplore is seeking a part-time Instructor to deliver hands-on STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and/or Fitness instruction to PreK-12 students at multiple San Diego sites. You will be provided with training, curriculum, and materials and report to a Program Success Manager.

The role emphasizes punctuality, preparing lessons, engaging students, and maintaining strong communication with site staff. A commitment to ongoing training and reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

• AA Degree (or higher) required.
• 2+ years teaching/instructing preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Educational (development or training) experience.
• Teaching degree or certificate is a PLUS!
• Must commit to the full proposed schedule.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willing to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Consistency - Follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (review lesson plans and materials).
• Competence - Deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction fostering critical thinking and joy in learning.
• Communication - Engage in professional, responsive communication with Site staff and Program Success Manager.
• Creativity - Deliver instruction from Nexplore’s programs with accommodations and extensions as relevant.
• Community - Contribute to family engagement and help children access and engage in Nexplore programs.
