Job summary

Manhattan Youth is seeking several part-time After-school Teachers/Activities Specialists to lead STEM and science enrichment after school across coding, video game design, lego robotics, engineering activities, science olympiad, math team, and elementary school science.

After-school teachers guide students in social, emotional, and academic development, work with school staff, and maintain a positive, safe, and engaging environment from 2:00 to 6:00pm, September through June, across multiple

Qualifications

• 2+ years of teaching elementary or middle school students, preferably after-school.
• Ability to design engaging, evidence-based activities for diverse learners.
• Strong communication with families, students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Work with Education Directors to design program curriculum.
• Create lesson plans aligned to class descriptions and goals.
• Structure instruction to emphasize student-centered, project-based learning.
• Plan activities and materials for daily schedule and lead children.
• Promote Manhattan Youth’s core values in staff and students.
• Collaborate with staff to build a positive learning community.
• Provide updates to the Program Director on progress and challenges.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Ensure safety during activities and address emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
