Job summary

Foothills is hiring a Program Leader for after-school childcare. The role runs 2:15/2:30 pm–6:00 pm on regular school days, with extended hours 6:45 am–6:00 pm during school breaks.

This part-time position requires 18+ years old, 460 hours of childcare experience, and all trainings for licensed childcare (CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, etc.). You will supervise children ages 5–12, plan activities, maintain safety, and collaborate with staff to create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Minimum 460 hours of documented experience working with children.
• Complete trainings required for licensed childcare (CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, Playground Safety, Injury Prevention, and Medication Administration; 15 hours of annual employer-provided training).
• Pass TRAILS and CBI/FBI fingerprint background checks for licensed childcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily supervision and care of youth ages 5-12.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow safety precautions during programs and field trips.
• Facilitate activities such as arts, science, building, dramatic play, and gross motor games.
• Set up and deliver daily routines, snacks/meals, playground supervision, and orderly environment.
• Collaborate with after-school staff to plan activities.
• Communicate professionally with supervisor, teammates, and families; maintain confidentiality.
• Cultivate inviting and nurturing environment for every child.
• Build trusting relationships with children and families; exercise good judgment.
• Use positive behavior reinforcement and developmentally appropriate guidance.
• Be reliable and punctual; flexible in a dynamic environment.
