Job summary

Metropolitan Family Service is seeking a Program Assistant for the SUN sites in West Powellhurst, Portland, to support after-school and summer activities. The role includes data entry, event planning, and coordinating family and community engagement under supervision, with a 15-hour weekly schedule.

The position is non-exempt and day shift, offering opportunities to work within a diverse team and to contribute to community programs across the SUN initiative.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent, relevant experience
• Experience teaching and/or working with school aged students
• Ability to work with diverse groups and provide a welcoming environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee general functioning of the after school/summer program, including set-up and clean-up, attendance, supplies, and transitions
• Assist Site Manager with data entry, attendance tracking, behavior incentive plans, events, and community partnerships
• Provide administrative support to SUN site office (answering calls, routing voicemails)
• Coordinate participant registration, data collection, and filing in accordance with program needs
• Assist with planning and coordinating family and community events
• Maintain office supplies and program inventory, ensuring materials are available
