Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of students at all times.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students.
• Follow safety, security, emergency, and student supervision procedures.
• Check students in and out according to established school procedures and release students only to authorized individuals.
• Encourage students to participate positively and respectfully in activities.
• Assist students with homework and provide a quiet environment for completing schoolwork when appropriate.
• Reinforce school expectations for respectful behavior, cooperation, and care for school property.
• Respond to student behavior calmly and consistently and follow the school's discipline and behavior-management procedures.
• Monitor student transitions, bathroom use, outdoor play, and other activities to ensure appropriate supervision.
• Maintain awareness of student medical, allergy, and other safety information as provided by the school.
• Communicate promptly with the appropriate school administrator regarding injuries, accidents, behavioral concerns, or other significant incidents.
• Maintain accurate attendance and dismissal records.
• Keep program spaces clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Assist with cleanup at the conclusion of the program each day.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with parents and guardians during student pickup.
• Protect student confidentiality and follow all school policies regarding student information and communication.

The St. Theresa Extended Day Program (STEP) employee is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students who remain at St. Theresa School after the regular school day. This position has an hourly range of $15.00 - $17.00. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
