Job summary

Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP), operating under RFCUNY, seeks part-time Group Leaders for its COMPASS middle school program at Brooklyn College. You will supervise groups, design activities, and support youth social, emotional, and academic growth after school.

Responsibilities include facilitating engaging activities, modeling positive behavior, attending required PD, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment while coordinating with staff and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Current college undergraduates or higher
• Must be 18 years or older
• At least 2 years of direct experience working with children under 13
• Strong knowledge of the NYC DOE Public School system
• Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace

Responsibilities

• Facilitate structured, creative activities that support youth social, emotional, and physical well-being
• Supervise and engage middle school participants in a safe, welcoming environment
• Model positive behavior and guide students toward confidence, respect, and responsibility
• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team
• Attend professional development sessions and staff meetings
• Attend weekly check-ins with supervisor and participate in training
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all participants
• Document participant work for program events and annual Artsfest
• Comply with NYC DOE, DOHMH, DYCD, and NYS SACC regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
