Job summary

Partnership with Children in New York City is seeking a Group Leader for its Beacon after-school program. You will supervise small groups, support Activity Specialists, and help students with homework while ensuring safety and engagement in a warm, structured setting.

This in-person role runs weekdays 2:30pm–6:00pm during the school year, 15 hours per week. Applicants should be at least 18 with a high school diploma and prior experience with children; reliable attendance and the ability to lead

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work with youth.
  • Ability to assist and participate in group sports, arts and crafts and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all program participants.
  • Assist with homework completion.
  • Assist Activity Specialist in the implementation of lessons and activities.
  • Provide constant supervision to assigned groups of children.
  • Ensure that classroom and activity areas are cleaned and organized.
  • Motivate and maintain active involvement of program participants.
  • Notify supervisors of any behaviors that impede quality services and safety, including reporting incidents of injury or harm.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Abide by safety protocols as outlined by DYCD, OCFS and PwC.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
