Job summary

Partnership with Children in New York City seeks a Part-Time Group Leader to support Beacon Programs in school-based settings. You will help supervise groups of students, assist with activities, and ensure safety and engagement after school. The role is fully in-person, with 15 hours per week (M-F 2:30pm–6:00pm) and a pay rate of $19/hour.

Candidates should be 18+, with a high school diploma, reliability and experience with children. Training and meetings are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children, experience working in an after-school program preferred.
• Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youth.
• Ability to maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Ability to assist and participate in group sports and recreation, educational, arts and crafts and special events.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all program participants.
• Assist with homework completion.
• Assist Activity Specialist in the implementation of lessons and activities.
• Provide constant supervision to assigned groups of children.
• Ensure that classroom and activity areas are cleaned and organized.
• Motivate and maintain active involvement of program participants.
• Notify supervisors of any behaviors that impede the provision of quality services and the safety of participants and staff.
• Attend all required meetings and training.
• Abide by all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Health/OCFS, DYCD and PwC.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
