Sticky Fingers Cooking, LLC in Dallas seeks a part-time After School Children\'s Cooking Instructor to bring hands-on cooking classes to kids after school at various sites in the area.

You will lead hour-long sessions for 3-18 year olds, develop kid-friendly recipes, review curricula, shop for ingredients, and teach essential kitchen skills, nutrition, and world foods. No professional cooking experience required, training provided.

Qualifications

• Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks).
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification (can obtain before teaching).
• Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Upon hire, employees will be required to pass a fingerprint background check.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner.
• Punctual and reliable.
• No professional cooking experience required.
• Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with children between ages 3-18, parents, and school staff each week while leading hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes on-site at different locations in the area.
• Create creative recipes weekly and teach children about new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world, reviewing curricula and preparing for instruction including shopping for fresh ingredients.
• Teach basic kitchen skills such as washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, and nutrition, plus the history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
• Help kids learn in a dynamic hands-on environment and provide direction and encouragement to create a new recipe each class.
• Teach kids healthy food habits to nourish their bodies and minds for a lifetime.
